LaRodge Johnson‑Miller is a multidisciplinary photographer and art activist based in Camden, New Jersey. She earned a double major in Photography and Marketing with a minor in Art History from Rutgers University–Camden. Her work centers the African female diaspora within American society, using photography as a tool for storytelling, resistance, and reimagining.

Johnson‑Miller’s practice is rooted in activism and legacy, continuing the tradition of artists who speak truth to power while envisioning new possibilities for Black identity. Through her lens, she addresses issues of race, belonging, and systemic inequality, balancing social commentary with comedy, whimsy, romance, and sensuality. This duality allows her work to confront difficult histories while still making space for Black joy and beauty.

Having fallen in love with photography over fifteen years ago, Johnson‑Miller has developed a strong technical and compositional style, working with digital and film photography across both large‑ and small‑format cameras. She constructs each frame intentionally, creating all visual elements herself.

Her work has been exhibited locally at the Marlin Art Gallery, Steadman Gallery, Living Arts Theater in Philadelphia, RAW Artists Collective, and Rutgers–Camden Campus Gallery. She also has permanent installations at the IDEA Center and mural sites throughout Camden.
